REPORT ON THE TALK “CO-EXISTING WITH NATURE: NOT OWNERS BUT PARTNERS “

A guest talk on the theme “Coexisting with Nature” was organized for the students of II PUC to create awareness about environmental responsibility and sustainable living. The session was delivered by the resource person Ms. Vivid D’Souza, who emphasized the importance of maintaining a harmonious relationship with nature. The session began by introducing the resource person to the gathering by Madam Carel. Principal Sr Maria Felicita AC, welcomed Ms Vivid D’Souza with a flower pot. Madam Carel welcomed the Principal, teaching faculty and students. Further the session was taken over by the resource person The talk highlighted the significance of sustainability, encouraging the wise use of natural resources to meet present needs without compromising the needs of future generations. The speaker also discussed effective pollution control measures, stressing the role of individuals in reducing waste, minimising plastic usage, and adopting eco-friendly practices. The resource person further explained various conservation methods, including water conservation, afforestation and biodiversity protection. Special emphasis was given to the importance of coastal ecosystems, their rich biodiversity, and the need to protect them from pollution, habitat destruction, and climate change. The session was highly informative and inspired students to adopt environmentally responsible practices in their daily lives. The session concluded by delivering the vote of thanks by Ms Akshatha of IIPCMB.
